newest WIP. having a lot of fun with this one.

this past Saturday was a charity show sponsored by Robot Chicken. i put in my "a tail of two kittys" print which sold at the show. it was supposedly a very good turnout and raised a good amount of money. i was across the country and not able to attend myself.

how that current piece is progressing. the final version is going to look a lot different however. my work process is pretty slow for the first 70% then jumps the last 30.

"Nest of Sorrows"
i made a two plate print of a running female lioness in 2010. i had printed them on a large sheet of arches buff so i could then draw and paint my idea onto it. the image has to do with the loss of a child, but wasn't strong enough with just the watercolor.



i am currently in the process of painting it into a stronger image.

wip image. foxes occur often in myths and fables. they're often also seen as tricksters. keeping this in mind I'm working on an all digital forest scene with an anthropomorphic fox. hopefully will be done soon!

wanted to explore the same character. tried to make the backgorund look like a monoprint and the foreground like a woodcut. started this about 20 minutes before they started covering the earthquake hitting japan and worked on it all during the night watching the coverage. i think it influenced the piece some.
